WELCOME MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT

In 2005, we set out on a mission to help educate a great number of Ghanaians and international community, who in the quest to attain tertiary education have had to contend with frustrations involved in gaining admission into credible tertiary institutions.
Our mission was noble; yet even more noble was our commitment to maintain high standards in the delivery of tertiary education.

In the midst of obvious challenges, our resolve to provide quality education has never been in doubt as we continue to admit senior high school graduates, and workers who are normally referred to as Mature Students, some of whom have very little self belief at the time of their admission, and train them to become confident and useful professionals in their chosen professions.
Our popularity has shot up and today, Advanced Business College has become a university college of choice for many Ghanaian senior high school graduates as well as international students from sister African countries aspiring to professional careers, particularly, in business fields and graphic design.
We are determined to consolidate our position as a leading tertiary institution for graphic design and business education in Ghana and ultimately become the leader in the provision of quality tertiary education in the area of Business, ICT and Graphic Design.
It is an ambition we are keen on holding onto, as we move into the next phase of our development with a faculty of accomplished academics and professionals with the requisite experience, knowledge and competence.

In the next phase of our development, we shall continue to place emphasis on professional development and enhancement. While that has always been an emphasis, we hope to focus more on the professional relevance of our academic programmes and graduates because of increasing competition on the job market.

In that regard, academic and professional internships as well as ICT education shall continue to be key areas of focus.
Advanced Business College is accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of the Ministry of Education to offer Bachelor Degree programmes and the National Board for Professional & Technical Examination (NABPTEX) to run programmes leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND).
Presently, we are affiliated to one of the leading public universities in Ghana, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

Additionally, we are affiliated to the Association of Business Managers & Administrators (ABMA-UK), Institute of Commercial Management (ICM-UK), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK), Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA-Ghana), London Centre of Marketing (LCM-UK) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK).read more >>

ABOUT US

Advanced Business College (ABC) was born out of the conviction that everyone has a role to play towards the overall development of our dear nation, Ghana. The development of every nation depends, to a very large extent, on the quality of its human resource.
Ghana, as a developing nation, requires a well educated human resource, if it is to develop into a middle income country within the foreseeable future.
Over the years, however, greater percentages of persons who qualify for the various institutions of higher learning do not gain admission into them due to inadequate facilities. It is for this reason that the Founder/Promoter, having obtained the requisite academic qualification complemented with enough professional experience, and with the support of the Principal decided to establish Advanced Business College as their contribution to solving the problem of human resource development in our dear nation, Ghana.
Advanced Business College has been registered under the Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179), as a body corporate limited by shares with perpetual succession and a common seal. The registration is dated 9th September, 2005 and certificate to commence business is dated 12th September 2005.
The College was registered with Ghana Education Service (GES) in 2006 with registration number GES/GAR/PT/BS/01B/2006. This was followed up in 2007 with institutional accreditation from National Accreditation Board (NAB). In the year 2008, Advanced Business College received programme accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Management Studies with study options in Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Computer Science and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Graphic Design.

COLLEGE SYMBOLS

Description Of The Logo
Advanced Business College has as its logo a blue coloured circle of medium thickness boarded circularly by two red thin lines. The blue which reflects the stability and quietness of the sky signifies the horizon of knowledge that opens doors to development and progress of our students after their education.

The red boarded lines reflect the aptness, seriousness and commitment with which we approach and attain our goals. The white shaded background which borders the red margins or thin lines also symbolises our purity and compassion to the service of humanity.

Inside the white background is a badge which signifies the authority of the college to impart knowledge and to receive recognition for its scholarly work. The blue outline of the badge reflects both our flexibility and maturity which transcends in all our responsibilities. Within the badge is also a diamond star that portrays our belief that whoever walks into the four corners of this college is able to lead, excel, be purposeful and be compassionate to others with the knowledge he/she has gained.

The visible large star-like stripes that glows from the background is a real manifestation of our superiority as a torch bearer in societal change. Below the entire image and grasping it firmly is a banner with the inscription ‘Star of Excellence', written on a white background, this is what the college stands for and continues to be among the first in its peers. Finally, the pen and open book is the instruments with which the students are empowered to serve the world. The abbreviation ‘ABC' currently is a shortened form of our name and it is adopted for easy identification and usage in all our corporate communications.

HISTORY OF ABC
Advanced Business College was born out of the conviction that everyone has a role to play towards the overall development of our dear nation, Ghana. The Founder/Promoter decided to contribute his quota in two ways. The first was to help reduce unemployment in our dear nation, no matter how insignificant that may seem, and the second was to help train and develop Ghana's human resource.

Motivated by this vision, Softwarehouse International Limited (Softwarehouse) was incorporated by the Founder/Promoter with two main objectives, software development and training, among others, back in 1995. Softwarehouse started full operation in January 1996 and by dint of hard work and the grace of God, it was accepted into the elite club of Ghana Club 100 - 2001 edition.

In the year 2005, ten years on, the Founder/Promoter having concentrated on one aspect of the vision all that while, decided to switch gear; that was to take on board the second part of the vision, which was the training and development of human resource. Co-incidentally the training and development of human resource directly played a role in the government of the time's (2005) policy on national development, which included training and development of human resource.

Originally the Training the Founder/Promoter had in mind was to be a department within Softwarehouse to offer Information Technology training. But ten years was long enough for the Founder to have fresh ideas, to improve upon the vision he had back in 1995. Therefore when the time came that the IT training was to start, it donned on him that it should be a College.

For the form of the College, the idea was that it should be a College, which will train people not only in IT, but also Accounting, Management, Secretarial and Languages, among others. Not only that, it should be a College which would grow to become a University College, and finally a full-fledged University, in not too distant future.

Advanced Business College was therefore incorporated under the Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179), as a body corporate limited by shares with perpetual succession and a common seal. The registration is dated 9th September, 2005 and certificate to commence business is dated 12th September 2005.
A dedication service for the College was conducted at the forecourt of the College on March 18, 2006 by the then Bishop of Northern Ghana Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Joseph Ato Brown, supported by the then Bishop of Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rt. Rev. Abraham Tagoe,.
Advanced Business College subsequently enrolled its first batch of students for pre-tertiary programmes in April 2006.

We continued to process our accreditation documents with the National Accreditation Board (NAB). During the third year of operation ABC received
Advanced Business College registered with Ghana Education Service (GES) in 2006 with registration number GES/GAR/PT/BS/01B/2006. This was followed up in 2007 with institutional accreditation from National Accreditation Board (NAB).

In the year 2008, ABC received programme accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) Management Studies with study options in Accounting & Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Computer Science and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Graphic Design.
Still in the year 2008, the College completed affiliation process with National Board for Professional and Technician Examination (NABPTEX).

This enabled us to admit our first batch of HND students in year 2008.
Finally in the year 2008 the College completed affiliation process with University of Education, Winneba (UEW).
